Cornish Hunting Poplet

A devious tartan that is not Scottish but Cornish! It’s celtic roots tell the tale of Saint Piran, who travelled from Ireland and became the Patron of tin in the peninsula (here the base of the fabric shows a black background with the white cross, mimicking the Cornish flag). This is a very light weight kilt wool in a plain drill weave. Accompanying colours include yellow (representing the gorse of the countryside), blue, red & green to create what is known as The Hunting Check.

We have matched this tartan with one of our softest linings – a light weight sandwash silk in a lustrous shade of mauve. This ties the strong colours of the outer fabric together beautifully and feels incredible against your skin.
